Baybrook Mall Expansion

The Baybrook Mall‘s initial construction was first completed in 1978. The mall is still widely considered the dominate shopping center in the greater Clear Lake area. However, due to the pressure of competition from Pearland Town Center and Tanger Outlet Mall in Texas City, Baybrook Mall pushed forward with their two-phase expansion plan. The project will add more than 500,000 square feet when completed. The first phase consists of what is being refer to as a “lifestyle addition” made up of upscale stores and restaurants. The second will be a 270,000 square foot power center with Dick’s Sporting Goods currently slated to be one of the anchor tenants. Finally, a grassy lawn the length of a football field will be added at the heart of the area. The marketing manager for Baybrook Mall, Colin Moussa, was noted as saying that Baybrook will become the heart of the center and community.

Construction began rather recently – this past May to be exact – and the construction of the lifestyle addition is already mostly complete! A number of stores and eateries opened their doors for the 2015 holiday season. Since the grand opening in November, Kona Grill, Lovesac, Bar Louie, Yardhouse, Sur La Table, Zara, Maggiano’s, and more have opened for business. The first Dave & Buster’s outside of Houston’s city limits has opened, as well as the newly relocated Star Cinema Grill. Yet, there’s still more to come! The lifestyle addition will soon be adding Rouxpour Restaurant and Bar, Arhaus, Gloria’s Latin Cuisine, and Grimaldi’s Pizzeria. Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille will open at the mall on January 28th. The last night to dine at its current Bay Area Blvd location is January 23rd.

There’s a lot of new things on the horizon for Baybrook Mall, and you’re bound to find something new and exciting every time you visit for years to come!
